On October 20, 2016, Art This Week filmed Perspectives: Glenn O’Brien at the Blanton Museum of Art. In this talk, O’Brien speaks about his time working with and working for Andy Warhol. He served as editor-in-chief of Warhol’s Interview Magazine three different times. The talk was moderated by The Blanton’s Manager of Public Programs, Adam Bennett. The talk coincided with the exhibition, Warhol by the Book on view at the museum from October 16, 2016 – January 29, 2017.

On September 30, 2016, Art This Week filmed “An Evening with Dorothy Hood: Panel Discussion with Susie Kalil and Friends of Dorothy Hood” at the Art Museum of South Texas, Corpus Christi.
The panel included, moderator, Dr. William Otton, former Executive Director of the Art Museum of South Texas. Susie Kalil, author of and guest curator of the exhibition, The Color of Life/El Color del Ser: DOROTHY HOOD. Dr. Katie Robinson Edwards, curator of Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum in Austin, Texas. Lynn Randolph, artist and friend of Dorothy Hood. Dr. Carey Rote, Professor of Art History at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi.
The panel coincided with the opening of the exhibition, The Color of Life/El Color del Ser: DOROTHY HOOD on view at the museum from September 30, 2016 – January 8, 2017.

On May 19, 2016, Art This Week filmed the Fixing Shadows panel discussion at the Blanton Museum of Art. Curator Beverly Adams moderated “a discussion among three artists featured in Fixing Shadows: Luz María Bedoya (Lima), Fernando Castro (Houston), and Pablo Hare (Lima). The artists will reflect on the lasting influence of Lima’s groundbreaking Secuencia Photo-Galería (1976–79), their experiences as photographers in Lima during Peru’s internal conflict in the 1980s and 1990s, and their ongoing work in photography and interdisciplinary art today.” (From the Blanton website) The panel was held in conjunction with the exhibition, Fixing Shadows: Contemporary Peruvian Photography, 1968–2015 on view April 23, 2016 – July 3, 2016. Funding for the Panel provided by the Barbara Duncan Centennial Endowed Lectureship.

Dr. Dackerman’s discussion on Corita Kent focuses on her fascinating life and art, including her Pop art influences, her time with the Catholic church, her printmaking and her use of pop-culture references. This art talk coincided with the exhibition, Corita Kent and the Language of Pop organized by the Harvard Art Museum and on view at the San Antonio Museum of Art from February 13-May 8, 2016.
