Art This Week-The Meadows-89 Seconds at Alcazar-Interview with artist Eve Sussman-September 27, 2010-Ep. 68
Show Notes:
We conclude our visit to the Meadows by speaking with the artist Eve Sussman about her film 89 Seconds at Alcazar. It is currently being screened in conjunction with the exhibition, Spanish Muse: A Contemporary Response at the museum. Inspired by Diego Velázquez’s Las Meninas, it “recreates” the painting with actors, costumes and sets. The film and exhibition are on view through December 12, 2010.
More information on Eve and her films can be found at Rufus Corporation project’s page.
In addition to 89 Seconds at Alcazar, you can see her installation, Yuri’s Office, at Fort Worth Contemporary Arts. This work recreates the Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin’s Office. It’s up through October 31, 2010.
